One week deep..

So, it has been a week since my first day at SHM. Every day I have learned something new about the company and the endeavors that I am going to encounter. I am really excited to be a part of the marketing department, and for my voice to actually be heard, and considered.

I think the hardest thing I am going to have to get used to is all of the different online systems. Being very organized and having to do things before a certain time period is also a concern of mine. However, I confident that this will not be a problem for me, because I have had due dates for 14 years of school. Basecamp, informz, pequod, iMIS, and so forth... not so much. The first time I looked at some of the websites/programs, I thought I was reading a different language. Now, a week later, I understand some things, but there is still a lot that I need to learn. Hopefully it will not be difficult, and I end up laughing at myself for thinking it was difficult.

The most important step to take in order for this to be easy, is to talk to my co-workers and ask questions. I understand that I can not do everything on my own, and I am surrounded by a lot of people who know these websites like the back of their hand, and are willing to help me. Also, by exploring on my own, and doing research through the sites, I can learn a lot on my own as well. I believe that in September I will find myself laughing that I thought I would have a hard time learning these tasks.
