First Week

It’s already been over a week and I can’t believe it. I have learned so much in just that time, not only about the Q.I. department, but a little about every department. I have also learned things about Microsoft Office 2007 that I’ve never even heard of before! This job, as SHM promised, is keeping me very busy. Along with that aspect, I love that I am learning so much.

I thought the hardest part about working at SHM would be waking up early and getting here on time. However, I have gotten so used to it already that it should not be a problem at all. But what I do feel will be the hardest part about working here is maintaining a good pace with my work. Because a good portion of my work involves research, I will spend more time on doing that than my other tasks. I will have to improve my online research skills so that I can perform searches in the most efficient way, without wasting time. However, I feel that this is not something difficult to improve upon. I plan on finding the best organizations that provide the type of information that our department is looking for and focusing more on them for the information. Also, I figured if I stay more organized, I will be able to move quickly through documents while researching. So, that I feel is the hardest part of my job and I’m sure that it will not be hard at all after I become more organized and more used to doing the research.

I have enjoyed working here for as long as I have, everyone is so nice and helpful! I’m excited to be working with everyone here and learning whatever I can. :)
