First of all I am very excited to be working so closely with you. Already, I feel like we have a lot in common and work well together. I think it’s even better that you were already an MA and know how I feel which shows when I have a confused look on my face and you already are able to pick that up and explain things in a different way. I really appreciate that and as much as I try not to make mistakes (which I already have made a whole bunch..!) but at the same time I learn from them because you let me know what I’m doing wrong and how to fix it! I’m starting to get IMIS much more and hope I can become an expert sometime soon. Also, as you may have read from my previous blog I am trying to unleash my creativity.. I had fun making that FHM order form and liked your direction and how you let me do my own thing. That kind of task freaks me out at first because I am less confident in having a broad scheme of a project but I did enjoy it! I look forward to the chapters and really getting into the website, I hope that in six months we will have come a long way!

I excited for our first meeting together today, although postponed for a bit I’m ready to get into some new elements of the company and see exactly what you do. I think that it’s going to be fun- and I am excited to work with you. I think you are like me in that, we have a good time but get our work done. I hope to learn more market analysis and more of what you were telling me about membership and actually going around to hospitals to promote and spread SHM!
Well I wrote the about before our meeting, but now that it has happened- I’m even more excited! I really want to get into market research and analysis! I’m actually looking forward to Monday and all the tasks you have assigned to me, I hope that we can help shape SHM and move into the good to great direction!

This is the perfect topic for this week because I had such an exciting day yesterday! I was fortunate enough to go with Christine to the filming of the new SHM video and actually meet some of our members, board members, and even Larry! (This was fun to tell all my friends that I got to take a cab with the CEO of my company!) I really feel more of a connection to the cause after yesterday- hearing what everyone had to say and how SHM has affected each of their lives. I also feel a huge sense of pride in what I work every day for. One of the core values is “Own your work” which for me I feel like taking pride in your work and your cause fits in quite nicely. I’ve never been in a place like the filming studio but it was a very new and exciting experience. It sounds monotonous but I really felt as if I was one of the full timers. I got to record while people were being filmed and pick out some good material that could potentially be in the movie. Also getting to sit in the conference room and discuss many different topics and ideas alongside the director and staff was really motivating to just do as much as I could. It was a perfect day to paint a big picture for me because so many elements that I have been hearing about in the past three weeks came alive. Seeing and hearing from the members and how they interacted with each other painted a picture in my head now when I hear the word “society.” I think that what we do everyday has more meaning when you see why you are working so hard, and for this movement that is only getting bigger!
