First Days @ SHM.....

I have never felt so peaceful in a working environment.

Hello, I am Natasha Torrence. I am currently a junior at Drexel University, and the newest graphic design assistant at SHM. I love art and design. What's important is that I am an artist first, and a designer second. Don't get me wrong, I love being both! As an artist, I create things from the heart & soul, pure expression. As a designer, I am trained to provide visual solutions for a person's ideas and overall agenda. My goal is to fuse the two: creating the best design while maintaining artistic integrity and expression, and it can be done! I like all my pieces to have a bit of 'me' in it. (how much 'me' is up to the boss, lol ). The areas in design I enjoy the most are restaurant & lounges, interior application (walls, tables, floors etc.), and 3-D interior objects. Most of my work is inspired by nature. I love God, we are very close. I also looove sports and cars. Cars drive me crazy!

Here at SHM, I would like to become moreknowledgable in the entire working design process. Starting from the origins of the marketing scheme, all the way to working directly with the print press. I want to learn more about marketing, because it is a necessity in the design world. You have to market not only your clients, but yourself! This will help me become a more solid businesswoman. Designing is great, but it is also a business. Design is a culmination of art, business, and technology. I also want to increase my skills in the design software. The programs are so extensive, it takes years of experience working with the programs to achieve mastery. At the end of my experience, I want to SHM to be proud of my work. I want to evolve the look of the design pieces, giving to them my uniqueness.

I found out today that Katie boxes everyday, I think that is awesome! I have been wanting to box for so long.
