Hey guys!
So how is everyone doing? I think this blog is pretty cool because even though we introduced ourselves to each other, this is going to help us keep in touch for 6 months here at SHM and I am sure further ahead too.
I am a coop student from Drexel, and I am the new Quality Initiatives Assistant. I am a junior, majoring in Health sciences but I’ll be taking my MCATs soon, so if I do well on that (fingers crossed), I might end up going to med-school. I love painting so I do sketch and paint once in a while in my free time. I am also on a dance team at Drexel and it’s an Indian-cultural dance team but we go to California, Maryland and colleges in other cities for competitions. I just thought I would share that with all of you because I think that’s one of the exciting things I do at school. I am basically a fun-loving person. I am sure we’ll have a chance to get to know each other better(this blog is definitely going to make that easier) and I am excited to be in such a friendly environment and be around all these amazing people who have accomplished so much already!
When I came in this Monday, I was just a little nervous but at the same time, excited. Lauren came to get me and she told me there were a lot of new people here today so I said to myself, “Thank god! I am not the only one” and I thought in the beginning and also when I came in for the interview, that this was a quiet place where people are probably busy doing their own thing. Well, its Friday today, my fifth day here and my thoughts about SHM have completely changed. It’s not really a quiet place, everyone here is so warm, comforting and fun that I felt like I was new to this place for the first few minutes here but before I even knew it, I was all set, talking with everyone and joking around.
And everyone is busy, but no one is stressed and the system is organized. I attended a few meetings, and I realized that there were people from every department to support the other departments and no one here is oblivious of what the other department is doing. I already know so much apart from the QI department. It’s well-connected and I think the success of SHM is a result of their amazing team work.
My six months at SHM will be a worth remembering learning experience.
I am excited to work with our team here at SHM!! Good luck everyone, and even though I am on the other end here, come visit me!
Have a great weekend! :-)
