About a month ago, I started thinking about what it’s going to be like to leave. I’ve committed countless hours and made what I hope to be a few lasting friendships, and then my co-op is over.
…That sucks.
Every day, people wake up and go to work. Far too few go to a job they love, and likewise far too few go to a job with people they love. I count myself among the luckiest few that can do both. I never imagined when I started here that I would enjoy working and being with the people that work here this much. Many co-op students can’t wait for their co-op to be over and rejoice that they will never have to hear from their employers again. Well, I’m really going to miss coming here and I hope the ties between us stay strong.
To the other MAs: You guys made work a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll see you guys more often than in passing.
Meredith: Although you were a business student (and nobody likes business students) you have been so much fun to work with these past six months. Every time someone says something shocking, I’m going to think… WHAAAAAAAT!?!? You CBs were fun and you prevented me from getting yelled at about headphones plenty of times. Even though you decided you didn’t like sitting next to me, you’re still pretty awesome.
Jill: Hehehehehehehehehehehehe. You had to know I was going to start with that. Too funny. I don’t really know anything about SWOT analysises (I don’t even know how to spell the plural of the world analysis), but I know it was something you worked hard on and something I could definitely never do. I hope you liked all the youtube vides that I sent you that you couldn’t listen to.
Dettmer: We tended to think alike on most things (Todd is probably scared to read that).We need to leave to the busses, so your section is brief. Do work son.
To everyone else here: You make it clear every day that you care about your employees and co-workers. I’m afraid I have to leave you all in a bit of suspense now, I’ve kind of got something planned for the coming week and, lets be honest, it’s not really my style to conform to all the rules. Just wait, it’ll be good, I promise.
To the future co-ops: You’ve just joined a family full of amazing people (and like every family, a few crazies). Everyone will be there during your highest highs and lowest lows. They will selflessly push you to be the best you can be, both in your work and in your life. You’re going to blink and six months will be gone and you’ll be in the same place I am; trying to figure out a way to explain how great the people here are. You can’t. You’ll just have to experience it and enjoy it. Good luck, you’re going to love it here.
“To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.”
