Define success in your own words
Each individual has a unique way of defining and interpreting success. However, success to me is attaining a goal that you set for yourself. Setting an end goal for anything is an integral part of success that some people tend to overlook. How are you supposed to know what success is, if you didn’t know what you were trying to achieve in the first place? And the goal does not always have to be an amazing accomplishment like becoming a millionaire or making it to the NHL. You can achieve success by setting realistic goals for yourself and making them reality. An example as simple as losing a couple pounds each month or improving your test scores in your math class. Success is what you make of it and how hard you’re willing to work to attain success. My goal last summer was to find a co-op that would give me the best opportunity and experience; so I gave it my all in every interview I was granted. My success there, was finding that job I was going to benefit from the most. My team’s goal at the beginning of the season was to make it to the national tournament for the first time in our programs history. And so far we have worked as hard as we could each game, earning a 7-1 record (1st in the ECHA) and are on our way to achieving that goal. But even if we don’t make nationals, at the end of the season we can look at each other knowing we gave it 100% every shift and that is the biggest success of all.
