First Week
So far my favorite part of the week has been meeting everyone and getting a chance to know a little bit about the people I’ve met. Quite honestly nothing has been overwhelming the first few days. The only overwhelming part for me would be learning some of the software and trying to memorize everyone’s names. The few co-workers that have been giving the MA’s training over the past few days have made it a very seamless transition into SHM’s working environment. The atmosphere of SHM is something that I never would have guessed coming in as a MA. Starting off the first day I was very surprised by the effort put forth of various employees to get to know me on a personal level within minutes of meeting them. That took a lot of weight off my shoulders for the first day and made me understand how SHM’s employees keep such a laid back atmosphere. The part of the week that has gone just right has been the various personal 101’s. Besides getting to know fellow co-workers, I actually learned a majority of what I know about SHM through the personal 101’s and their output of the company. I also really enjoyed being trained on some of the various software’s and systems by some of the employees in different departments. It was great being able to meet some of the people who I normally wouldn’t get a chance to work with or even get to know. Even our lunch the first day was a great to get a chance to introduce myself and learn about SHM through some of the people who have been in the company for a while and have the knowledge and experience to share with us. Something that really stuck out to me as impressive is the color teams. I think that’s a great way to get to know others and get more involved with the company besides everyone’s daily work routine. As far as the first week I have been very impressed by the people and SHM in general. I look forward to continue working here as I learn more and start to do some real work of my own.
