As Collective Reality - Blog Executive, I am now making the executive decision that I must be in the videos from now on. They're hilarious, and I refuse to be left out!

Anyways, one month down, five to go. If it seems like a lot to you, trust me, it's going to fly by.
Here's this weeks' question:

For most of you, this is your first co-op. What has it been like working in this type of environment, where meetings are an often occurrence, and working in teams is a must? How have you adapted to an environment you're not used to? Do you get behind on your day-to-day tasks with all of the meetings you attend? How do you like working in teams versus by yourself?

For those of you that this is your second co-op, how does it relate to your first?

Happy hump day!

PS - The next two weeks on campus are "Greek Week" which means Cassidy, Lexie and I will want nothing more than to be on campus to cheer on our respective sororities, and the sense of competitiveness will be at its all-time high. You'll probably hear us talking about different events quite frequently, and maybe even some friendly trash-talking (it's all fun and games!).
Just a heads up, because in the end, we still love each other.

Adios!

What has it really been like working in this environment? So far I have enjoyed experiencing all of the various meetings. I think that it is a good idea to have meetings especially once a week to keep everyone updated on what is going on. This is also important for those who are working on projects that are across other departments. I like the team idea and how the color teams are used to incorporate people from each department working on a project.

I think that I have adapted to this new environment and I am feeling more comfortable here at SHM. While Christine is always giving me something to do (and it is nice) sometimes I feel like I am rushing to make sure that I get it done when I have to attend meetings or help people with other projects.

As far as the teams and individual work, I like that mix that SHM has. It is nice to work with others especially when you are still learning about SHM, though it is nice to work on and accomplish projects on your own as well.

This co-op is my second co-op, so I sort of got all the nerves out of the way last year. But compared to last year, this co-op has been relatively different.
Last year my position was with Drexel University in the Alumni Department. I would get in contact with specific Drexel alums hoping to set up an interview face to face with them, to try and reconnect them to the University. I would ask them questions regarding their experiences at Drexel, along with some of their current thoughts about the University today. All in all, it was a very independent position, where I didn’t have to rely on too many others in order to successfully complete my tasks.
Now in comparison to this year’s position with SHM, I am completely getting a different knowledge on how crucial working with a team really is in a business. This year I feel like there is a lot more weight on my shoulders in completing a task, because other team members are relying on me to do so.
