My name is Ashley Bupp. I currently work at the Society of Hospital Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the Quality Initiatives Ddepartment as well as the Education and Meetings Department as the QI and Education Assistant. At the Society of Hospital Medicine we are  committed to promoting excellence in the practice of hospital medicine through education, advocacy and research. Through doing this we hope to promote the highest quality of care to patients in hospitals. I personally work closely with all of the project managers on their specific projects ranging anywhere from glycemic control and prevention of blood clots to helping to organize the annual meeting. I pull numbers from the participating hospitals in these programs to compare their results and see their progress in the programs as well as a number of other tasks that change on a day to day basis. I have learned the importance of time management and balancing my workload here in order to get all of my given tasks done on time for both departments I am working in. It is definitely going to be beneficial having this on my resume for future endeavours and surely am going to take a lot of things away from having the great opportunity of working here at SHM.
