Puerto Rico

My favorite vacation spot, even though I technically wasn't on vacation when I went, is Puerto Rico. I went there last year for 12 days before the holidays on a training trip as part of the Drexel swim team. Before going, the only other beaches I had been to were either in New Jersey or the Outer Banks. Puerto Rico blew them all away. The weather is always perfect; it never gets hotter than about 82 degrees and never gets colder than 70 degrees, even at night. I was on the beaches every day in between practices and I walked on them again every night. The sand is so soft and clean, so there aren’t a bunch of shells killing your feet, there are coconut trees and bunches of flowers scattered along the beach. The water temperature is perfect, and the waves are just the right size. I was in Carolina, so there was a nice town to go out to eat and have fun in at night. I enjoyed going to restaurants and getting the famous Puerto Rican mofongo, which is basically any meat you want mixed up with fried plantains. Puerto Rico is beautiful and has everything I love about the beach and I can’t wait until I can go back again.
